Flyby Videos
We obtained video of the Missouri and James Rivers shot from a helicopter, with the intent of incorporating it into the Lewis and Clark gNET website. These videos are now available online!
When you load an Interactive Map from our Mapping section, there is a button labeled, "Fly By", in the interface. Clicking this button and then selecting an area on the map will pop up a new window. In that new window, an aerial video taken from a helicopter shows you the river in full detail.
Not only do our Fly By videos show you the Missouri and James
Rivers, but GPS data has been encoded with the videos so,
with a compatable web browser, GPS information such as latitude,
longitude, speed (MPH), and altitude is updated in real time as it
plays! Lewis and Clark Events are synced with our database as the GPS information updates too.

to see the flyby video near Omaha, NE, where gNET is homed, and near
where the First
Tribal Council Signature Event took place.
GPS syncronization works best in IE or Netscape on a Windows computer, and direct access to the videos is available on all platforms. Some popup blockers on your internet browser may not allow the video player to appear properly. If the player is blocked, adjust the popup settings of your browser.
